Deputy Principal’s Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

What a term it has been! I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents for providing ongoing support for our children and teachers during this unprecedented time.

Along with the impacts of the COVID-19 and the many lost lives it has resulted in, I sincerely believe it has also brought many positive attributes to each individual. As an educator, I have witnessed that remote learning was a learning curve for all teachers and parents. I must admit that every one of my colleagues has gained a lot of experience within the technology space and will utilize it in their day to day work to endeavor the lives of our young ones.

In a student perspective, the remote style of studying requires you to be much more self-disciplined, especially when there is not even a Zoom class to attend. At times, this cannot be easy, but I believe it taught our students to work more independently.

I can confidently say that remote learning will confirm that the future of education should have a blended approach. Nowadays, our teachers have developed helpful tools to support students to make the learning process run more smoothly. Nevertheless, it is critical to have spaces when people can interact and show their 'soft' skills because, as our students grow up, they will nurture their abilities and be critical thinkers within the working environment they are surrounded in.

On this note, it was a delight to have our foundation - year two students commence on-site learning. I genuinely believe that a school without students cannot be a school, students are the beings who allow a school to be a school, and as teachers, we are proud to say this. We also hope for the return of our senior students who are back on the 9th of June. They will complete the cycle of the staggered approach, as per the government's announcement.

Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for their patience and support. I want to put my hat down to all my colleagues who have tirelessly worked to learn and implement the technology space to offer our students remote learning. Well done to all of you. We are proud of each step and effort you put forward for your kids at school and beyond.

Thank you,

Mr. Cihan
